My husband loved the before christmas poem<\/strong><\/a> about losing my shoes and has now requested that I write about my office…so take it up with him.<\/p>\n

Clean it up, and find your shoes,
\nmy helpful husband offers.
\nHe is not aware of what he asks,
\nit’s here I fill my coffers.<\/p>\n

Although the floor is piled high
\nwith music, books and papers,
\nin this space that’s mine alone,
\nI work on all my capers.<\/p>\n

My room is roughly 10 x 12
\nwith overflowing shelves,
\nI don’t know how the work gets done,
\nit must be all those elves.<\/p>\n

Van Gogh, Kandinsky, and Picasso
\nhang on butterscotch walls.
\nA four-line phone atop my desk,
\nit’s here I field the calls.<\/p>\n

No office furniture in my room,
\nI much prefer a den.
\nIt’s such a mess, oh can’t you guess,
\nI’ll never find my pen.<\/p>\n

Notebooks and file folders
\ncascade on a serving cart.
\nI can’t keep track of all there is,
\nI’ll have to make a chart.<\/p>\n

My desk an oblong dining table,
\nbelonged to my grandmother.
\nIt’s piled high with reference books
\nand so I need another.<\/p>\n

From great Aunts Hattie and Tillie
\ncomes my oval dining table.
\nIt’s here I sit and window watch
\nwhenever I am able.<\/p>\n

I’ll never find my shoes or keys,
\nas much you might suspect.
\nDon’t give me that look, i’m writing three books,
\nwhat else do you expect?<\/p>\n

“It’s very clear, it’s a disaster my dear.”
\n“I know,” I say with a sigh.
\n“If you clean it all up, you might be in luck.”
