Duke Ellington said there are two kinds of music – good and the other kind.
\nHere are some of observations regarding the Other:<\/p>\n

    \na jazz group is not an ensemble when all of the individuals solo simultaneously<\/ol>\n
      \nvelocity and volume do not make up for a lack of taste or talent, no matter how great the technical execution<\/ol>\n
        \n\tdrowning an audience in an avalanche of sounds gives them no space in which to discern\n<\/ol>\n
          \n\tit’s not likely to be good if the only message sent is ‘look ma, no hands’\n<\/ol>\n
            \nsame approach to each and every tune – performer can’t possibly understand the ‘meaning’ of the compositions\n<\/ol>\n
              \n\ta few inventive licks get re-used, over-used, and ultimately abused until the spice kills the whole dish\n<\/ol>\n
